Module B: Ground Disturbance Planning

  • The importance of codes of practice in terms of ground disturbance
  • The importance of and requirements for hazard assessments and emergency response plans
  • The various approvals required for ground disturbance

Developed with input from a cross-sector of industries, Locate Management’s new online Hydrovacing and Facility Verification 0.25 days (up to 2 hours) course is aimed at developing safe hydrovacing and facility identification and verification skills as part of the ground disturbance process. This e-learning course discusses hydrovac excavation; hydrovac procedures for facility crossings and trenchless crossings, as the primary means of excavation and for managing hazardous spills or leaks; pilot holes; slot and sloped trenches; and identification and verification procedures as per applicable regulatory federal and provincial/state requirements, acts and industry best practices.
