We go beyond the basics. This course dives deep into the attitudes, habits, and split-second decisions that separate proactive, safe drivers from those at risk. You’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of how to anticipate hazards, respond calmly to emergencies, and take complete control of your safety on the road.
Course Outline
What You’ll Learn: This course breaks down the root causes of unsafe driving and provides actionable strategies to avoid them. Key topics include:
- The Driver’s Role in Highway Safety: Understanding your impact on the road.
- Navigating the Traffic Safety Act: Clear, practical insights into Alberta’s driving laws.
- The Driving Triangle: How the driver, vehicle, and environment interact.

Certificate of Completion:
Participants who successfully pass the course will be able to print out a certificate of completion through the learning management system.
Course Duration
6.5 hours (online, self-paced)
Pass Mark
Knowledge testing is conducted throughout the course. Test questions are designed to reinforce the information presented and must be completed by each participant. A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion. Each participant is allowed to repeat the course twice if the course pass mark wasn’t achieved on the first attempt.
